Dermaplaning

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a safe, non-invasive exfoliating treatment which removes several layers of dead skin cells as well as the fluffy peach fuzz facial hair (vellus hair) that annoys so many of us!

Dermaplane can be done as a stand alone treatment or can be added with other treatments for even better results, want longer lasting gorgeous glowing skin then dermaplaning can be combined with other skincare treatments such as enzymes peels, chemical peels, LED Light Therapy, cryotherapy to achieve even greater results. The results are immediate with no downtime.

Benefits:

Micro-needling can help improve the appearance of hyper-pigmentation as well as uneven skin tone, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks.

Micro-needling is multiple needles that vertically pierce the skin to allow greater absorption of topically applied skin care products, increases collagen productions and elastin growth, and visibly improves skin tone. This promotes the body’s natural healing process of producing new skin cells to replace aged or damaged skin.

FAQ

We offer 2 versions of this treatment; ‘Dermaplane’ is perfectly safe to do for pregnant and breast feeding clients (If you are after a deep exfoliation, this will be the right treatment for you). However we do have a more intense version of this facial (Dermaplaning Deluxe) and it is strongly advised not to perform this treatment on clients who are pregnant and breastfeeding.

No, this is not the case. As long as the hair is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment. In our experience, some clients experience less vellus hair growth, the only time peach fuzz hair turns into thicker darker hair is when hormones are involved and this is nothing to do with the treatment.

Dermaplaning is extremely safe. I have 4 years experience and professionally trained and all of my equipment is sterilised and disposable.

This can be done every 4- 5 weeks. You should allow your skin to complete its normal cycle of approx. 30 days before repeating.

No, The technique used with the sterilised scalpel at a 45 degree angle (superficially) causes no pain during the treatment.

No, however if you already have congested pores, or a underline poor skin health, it is possible sometimes, your skin may purge and this is a good thing, as your pore are clearing out before the skin renews. If you break out, it is best to come back for a second treatment 4 weeks later to get the best result *Please contact us for advice on pre and post care*
